What's your dream?

Source: Elle Magazine
"Welcome to Hollywood! What's your dream? Everybody comes here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams. Some dreams come true, some don't; but keep on dreamin' - this is Hollywood. Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin'."
- The Happy guy in pretty woman

This was supposed to be the intro to my first post but I completely forgot about it aaah. Further incentive for me to get started on that editorial calendar of mine. I'm not in Hollywood anymore so does that quote still resonate? If I could say Hellz Yeah! out loud i would. oh wait, I just did ;)

yes, I know I am behind the Orange Curtain. Why do people from LA need to remind me about the Orange Curtain? I get it, its hard to leave. Not that I blame them. I mean have you visited our beaches? Yeah, I don't want to leave either. This is not to say it doesn't have its flaws - now if only I could come up with a few. Give me a sec...

Back to the original question. wherever you are keep on dreamin'!

My dreaming brought be to the place I finally feel like I belong. Southern California <3

I'm just not that into blogging?

I really have to become better at posting and stop letting life get in the way. Its been four months since my last post! I promise i'll get better at it people.

So much has happened, but between studying constantly for classes (working & getting an MBA part-time is not as easy as it sounds), volunteering and trying to maintain a social life, lets just say i haven't kept my part of the bargain of maintaining this blog.

So whats going on in my world?

Its the week of the royal wedding and lets just say that I am OVER IT. If one more person asks me if i'm watching it live I might scream. why in this day and age, with the wonderful technology i have at my fingertips will I wake up at the crack of dawn to watch a long parade. Yeah no thanks. I'll watch the video on every single website after the schinnanigans are over.

I have gotten into the habit of reading one book per month.  Reading purely academic books for school and leisure became quite nauseating. I wont tell you what my April book was because its pretty embarrassing but I am excited about my May book. Its huge and will take me all month unlike my last book which took me two days (i seriously was reading it while driving. appalling I know.).
In honor of the royal wedding madness i decided to pick up "Aristocrats - Power, Grace and Decadence" by Lawrence James. Fun ya? haha

If I wrote anymore I would have no content for the next post so, I gotta go folks. I'll leave you with my a picture of my favorite picture of last year - taken at Disney during christmas.

Minnie is such a diva!

Child abuse is still alive and well

Unfortunately!
However, a new social media campaign known as Childhood Cartoon Faces hopes to raise awareness of violence against children by encouraging Facebook users to ditch traditional pictures in favor of the cartoon images.

Did you change your profile picture? I did! I'll post a pic of the picture I changed mine to. The objective of this is to not see a single human face on facebook but an invasion of memories for the fight against child abuse! It ends on December 6th.

This is a really cool and creative social campaign. Its been pretty fun watching my some (not all) of my friends pictures change to their favorite childhood cartoons.

Here's a list of the characters so far...
He-Man
She-Ra
Dennis the Menace
Care bear characters
Tom & Jerry
Tin Tin
Inspector Gadget
Daffy Duck
Betty Boop

and here's my current fb profile pic. whats yours?

Happy Turkey Day!

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my first post (finally) and thanks for checking out my new blog detailing my adventures in my new home, Los Angeles.

Ah, where to start? The past few months have been a crazy whirlwind from the moment i landed in Los Angeles (in May) and now its November. Seriously, where does the time go? I must say that I am really excited to be writing this post on Thanksgiving. Only because after months of being here I finally feel settled. So much has happened since I got here.

Lets see...
  • Arrived in LA
  • Got job at small tech company in LA
  • Made some friends while in LA - one who has become a really good friend
  • Got involved in extracurricular activities - most importantly board member of the alumni club of my alma mater
  • Three months later I decided the job in tech company wasnt for me - oh oh
dun dun dun...what happened next?

I moved to Orange County!! Best decision i've made in a long time. Love my new job, my new place, my new everything. Now I really feel like I'm starting over which was the whole point of my move.

Let the adventures begin!

Oh and I cooked a turkey today. I feel very accomplished. Here are the before and after pics. Let me know what you think.
